Please Note:

You can make your own bump and diffuse textures by using crazy bump. It takes me an immense amount of time to do them in filter forge but crazy bump is pretty fast and does a great job.

Download Crazybump here http://www.crazybump.com/
Just import your texture and have fun making your bump maps and diffuse textures (etc) as great as you want.

Ultra Modern Seamless Fabric Tile FREE Png and Tga

So not much going on today I have a lot of work to do somewhere else.  But I thought I would post this really cool ultra modern seamless wallpaper for your 3d creations.  I envision it on a wall in a ultra modern house but you could use it for anything really.  It could be a fabric for some clothing or a tablecloth.  It could also work as a window screen, floor tile or bedding.

It's 2048 x 2048 so it's nice and big but you can resize it for whatever your project is.  It's in png format.  Just convert it to a .tga if you are using it for a game engine like Unreal Engine.  If you need me to convert it for you just send me a comment.

It's seamless and tiles beautifully.

Anyways have fun.  Send some love in comments if you wish!

Right click this png image and save as or download .tga below...

I am including the .tga file in case you don't have a utility to convert it.

Click here for download.  (shared from my drive.google.com)

Special thanks to Filter Forge and Mystic Blue Raven for the filter to make it.

Testing Complete - BS Grasses 1 Material Test Images Sneak Peek Preview

Hi Gaming and Art Enthusiasts...

(Please be patient, due to some bugs I am going to redo this on my windows machine instead of the mac so it should be here later this week)

So I ran some tests.  I am still working on the download.  I should have it up later tonight or tomorrow morning but no promises as I just had two surgeries in October and I never know how I will feel from moment to moment, I am a bit drained.

My last surgery was about a week ago and I had a nice hole carved in my scalp to remove some skin cancer so it's all stitched up and occasionally hurts but for the most part I am doing great at this point.

The Test Images are below...just incase you want to skim past all the blabbing.  I am not ready to release the file yet but I should have it done by tonight or tomorrow morning (Nov 3-4, 2015), no promises though in case something holds it up.

PS this is not for the grass mesh it is for the grass materials on the landscape.  I do plan to work on some grass meshes in the near future.

It would appear there are some strange and small bugs with naming conventions in Unreal Engine 4.10.  I renamed most the files so they are shorter names but they still show as longer names after dragging the files into Unreal Engine.

I am just amazed at the problem which is after I updated Unreal Engine.  I am supposed to keep file names under 20 characters.  Ugh.  Not sure that will happen full as I may have to go rename all the textures too.  And then retest.  But I did run a sort of quick test on the mats in a scene.

These scenes are un-rendered scenes (meaning I was not in play mode) but I could not play Unreal Engine on the Mac while doing a print screen but I think you can see enough they are good starter Mats.

I will see if I can put them through Unity too and either have a mat download or just provide the files for you.  I will definitely work on providing the mats for Unreal Engine.  But it will be nice to just give you the textures in a zip file so you can use them for what ever game engine or art project you have.

You will be able to use them for anything.  Make sure to peek at the Readme file as I have given credit to anyone or anything involved in the creation process.

Here are some images of the mats in Unreal Engine in a procedural foliage test game I was working on.

Remember I am still new to Unreal Engine and fairly new to Unity as well so my work is still in the learning process so if I screw anything up too much don't be too hard on me.  I do like constructive criticism so make sure and leave me some comments and some love!!

Check back regularly as I want to put out some great freebies for you all.  Don't forget to vote today!

Bright Soul Graphics Grass Materials Freebie For Unreal Engine or Unity 3D Game Engine

FREE GRASS TEXTURES!

FREE MATERIAL PACKS FOR UNITY AND UNREAL ENGINE  COMING SOON!

So I tested them out in a world with procedural foilage generation and it looks pretty good for each material.

I am working on a texture pack for my Bright Soul Landscape Grasses 1 which will have 5 landscape materials each slightly different variation of the same texture plus a bonus texture for snowy grass.  Most of them use the same texture but is just a variation of the one primary texture.

My methodology so far is to use various methods to hand create a texture from images in combination with hand editing and filters and then export the maps into Crazy Bump and adjust the normals and other maps so they are more defined.   I also have some great photos I have taken that I will be also making into texture /material packs.  There are sample images below of each texture on the landscape.  After putting these pretty textures on your landscape then add some soft blowy grass and trees meshes and you are off to the races!

The textures are

2048 x 2048 pixels
Hand Made and Sculpted
Hand Made Normal Maps for more ooomph!
Physically Based Rendering
For Tessalation

You can get a copy of Crazy Bump here www.crazybump.com.  It has a windows and mac version.  I can also use photos that I took with my iphone as the resolution is crazy beautiful and import them into something that will make it a seamless texture.  Afterwards I export out the various parts of the image into diffuse, normal, specular, ambient occlusion, etc.

I hear there is also a program called Awesome Bump and Insane Bump but I know nothing of them.  One is supposed to be for Blender.   I don't use blender but a lot of people love blender so if you need it for Blender it is out there I believe.

The biggest problem I am having at the moment is finding the right way to export the whole thing from Unreal Engine as I was creating these in 4.10.  I tried several times and I am not sure things are working right so I might have to make the whole thing in 4.9 as well as they are not exporting properly in 4.10.

The pack will be a freebie since it is my first time making these textures.  I am sick of not finding anything good on the market.

I have included some of the files below, just right click and save as,  though you will need to make your own tga files from the diffuse or just use the diffuse map for albedo.  Either way you get the picture, literally.

I am determined to make some good textures / material packs for decent prices.  It feels like there is not much in the Unreal Engine store.  Unity has a great store already though but freebies are always something we can use.

See you again soon!

Bright Soul Landscape Grasses 1 Material Package for Unreal Engine Coming Soon!  FREE!

By providing freebies,  I can get your feedback and you guys can help me understand if I did anything wrong while making them before I start charging for them.  My goal is to make them 5 Materials for 5 and 1 Bonus Material Free.  I will get them uploaded as soon as possible.  We are experiencing difficulty with the 4.10 export but if you can't wait there is a set above for download.  Just right click and save as...Have fun with it.

Feel free to comment me if you want.  I really want to know who is out there wanting more textures at free to nominal pricing.  Seeing packages from 14.99 to 89.99 and higher I thought it would be better to make smaller packages with focused subjects, i.e. sand, grass, moss, ice, etc. for more reasonable prices.
